Just For Fun: Tonight when you're having dinner with your family, go around the table and ask each other "what was the best part of your day?" These moments and conversations are priceless.

Study Habits

Please remember to encourage your children to treat studying as a daily assignment, not just something he/she does the evening before a test. For example, they might study for 15 minutes every night for a spelling test on Friday. After they finish their regular homework, they can spend a little time reviewing notes and handouts. Also, please remember to say something nice about your child's day. For example, "great job on your homework" or "I'm proud of you for being in the car at 8:00." They are learning from us all the time.....

Happy Saturday! I hope you all enjoyed your first full week of school. Please continue to stop by my office and say hello when you get a minute. I wanted to remind everyone that regular attendance is very important and it sets up a good pattern for you child's entire school career. Show him/her that school comes first by trying to keep days off for illnesses and family emergencies. Dear Parents and Students: Welcome back to another exciting school year. I hope your summer was restful. Let me begin by introducing some changes for this year: Mr. Matt Emory will be the new Assistant Principal and Ms. Jennifer Hinckley will be taking over as our school Counselor. Our past administrators have moved to our new campus called La Paloma Academy-South located at Drexel and 12th. Both Mr. Emory and Ms. Hinckley are certified administrators with a wealth of experience and knowledge. They will be a great addition to our administrative team, so please stop by their offices and introduce yourself. We continue to have a full compliment of Art, Computer/Technology classes and Physical Education opportunities for our students and all Kindergarten classes will be introduced to conversational Spanish on Wednesdays. Our incredible team has been working hard on constructing brand new Art and Media classrooms, so please take a moment and look at those additions. Open House for all grades will be August 29, 2012 from 6:00 p.m - 8:00. Our school showed wonderful growth according to the Arizona Growth Model. I am so proud of the work our teachers have done and our kids that work to reach their potential each day. As always, thanks so much for your continued support and I look forward to seeing you soon!
